Meowtasia Sitting Policies

Clear, gentle guidelines to keep every reservation safe, calm, and predictable.

Our policies are here to help create a safe, calm, and predictable sitting experience for every cat we care for. These guidelines ensure we can work gently, professionally, and respectfully while keeping your cat’s wellbeing at the heart of every appointment.

Please refer to Cat Grooming Policies - if you plan to add grooming services to your visit.
Please refer to Cat Sitting Agreement on our online booking - for more details

Prepaid Reservation (Non‑Refundable)

To secure your cat’s sitting dates, all bookings are prepaid and non‑refundable. This helps us plan our grooming schedule around your visit and ensures your cat’s care is fully reserved.

Added Days & Last‑Minute Changes

Need an extra day? No problem, regular rates apply when added ahead of time. If a day is added last minute, a higher fee applies because we must rearrange our grooming schedule to accommodate the change.

Additional Cats

If you have more than one cat, we simply add a small fee per additional feline. This covers the extra time, care, and attention each cat deserves.

Hidden or Undisclosed Cats

All cats in the home must be disclosed at booking. If an extra cat is discovered during the visit, an additional fee applies. This ensures every cat receives proper care and keeps our schedule accurate.

Credit Card on File

A valid credit card is kept securely on file for any additional fees that may arise, such as last‑minute changes, hidden cats, emergency care, or grooming add‑ons.

Home Access

Please ensure we can safely and reliably enter your home using your provided key, code, or lockbox. If we cannot access the home, the visit is billed at the full rate.

Home Environment

Your home must be safe and suitable for feline care. Please let us know about other pets, hazards, or people with access to the home so we can plan accordingly.

Behaviour & Safety

Your cat’s comfort and safety come first. If a cat becomes stressed or unsafe, we may pause or end the visit. Owners are responsible for any injuries caused by their cat.

Medication Support

We can administer oral, topical, asthmatic (inhaler/AeroKat), and insulin medications. Clear instructions and supplies must be provided. Complex routines will be performed and noted by Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician educated individuals.

Qualified Care Team

Cats needing medication will be cared for by an associate trained as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician. All associates are also trained in Pet CPR and First Aid.

Emergency Veterinary Care

If an emergency occurs, you give us permission to take your cat to the nearest veterinary clinic. We will always try to contact you, but your cat’s safety comes first. All veterinary costs are the owner’s responsibility.

Photos & Updates

You’ll receive a photo update at each visit. Photos may be shared on our social media unless you prefer otherwise and we never show personal or identifying home details.

Weather & Storm Delays

Nova Scotia winters can be unpredictable. Severe weather may delay or reschedule visits, and emergency storm visits may include additional fees.

Holiday & Peak‑Season Surcharges

Holiday periods may have limited availability and special rates. Prepayment is required for all holiday sitting blocks.

Communication Expectations

Please stay reachable during your cat’s sitting period. If we cannot reach you during an emergency, we will act in your cat’s best interest.

Clean Up & Home Conditions

If your cat creates an unexpected mess (vomit, diarrhea, litter disasters), a clean‑up fee may apply. Unsafe or unsanitary conditions may result in service refusal.

Liability Limitations

We are not responsible for pre‑existing medical conditions, home damage caused by your cat, or events outside our control such as weather, power outages, or break‑ins.

Why Our Policies Matter

Our policies aren’t about rules they’re about safety, clarity, and compassion. They help us maintain the standards required for feline-safe sitting while ensuring every cat receives gentle, respectful care.
Thank you for helping us create a calm, predictable experience for your cat.
